The Third Time..........

is the charm! I set these sleeves in three times before they were to satisfaction. At least now it is done. All that is left is to hem the sleeves and it is totally un fait acompli! Should be up with modeled pictures soon....Bunny

  4. So why so much trouble with the sleeves? Were they just not going in correctly? Please tell us, I really do want to start some sewing for me and I need all the tips I can get! That color is just fab!

    1. Despite matching dots and clips the ease did not seem properly distributed. The first sleeve was perfect. The second sleeve just wouldn't cooperate. I also had to match the back where the silk bias is and again, despite clips and dots, that did not line up with the first perfect sleeve. Eventually it went in. My tip: two rows of hand running stitch either side of the seam line. Leave the ends long on one side. Set the sleeve in along the bottom. Then, while on the dress form, pull those two long threads to make the ease. Distribute the ease as needed. I eventually ignored the dots and clips and just made sure the sleeve hung on grain. I guess that's the answer. I will have more on the sleeves tomorrow. Stay tuned.
