Wednesday Words - Mine!

This weeks Wednesday words are my own. I am needing a hiatus from blogging. So much is calling for my attention and I am forced to seriously prioritize to get it all done. Ern and I really need to focus on a few issues to accomplish that. His health has been challenged lately and it sort of puts me into some double duty on the home front.

My photography class has been intense and really requires a lot of homework all of which I thoroughly enjoy.  Classes will continue until the end of June. Hopefully I'll come out on the other side with improved pictures and skills. I have learned so much but mostly that I know very little. So my class is getting a lot of focus right now as well it should. It is a fun adventure.

Summer looms with all its gardening, visitors, home maintenance, etc, all of which my husband and I both enjoy. I will get some sewing in, for sure, but have to draw the line somewhere. I sew for sanity. I blog to share my passion for sewing. I will continue to sew.  Like I said, it keeps me sane. As far as blogging, I have many posts in my brain. I am hoping that will continue but at the moment it will be put on hold.

And then there's that job I work full time..........

I may blog now and then but for the time being, and I am not sure what that is, it will be sparse if at all. I hope to catch you all on the other side after our other priorities get managed. Thank you , all of you, dear readers, for following and commenting and just being the great blogger sisterhood that you are. Happy sewing and have a wonderful summer...................Bunny

  1. I hope you have a great summer, Bunny. I totally understand about managing priorities - blogging takes time and for me, I don't want it to take over my life. I sew to relieve stress and because I enjoy it, but there are other things in life that come first. I hope your husband gets better soon.

  2. Fully understand the need to prioritize and the blog not being a priority right now. Been there, done that...
Have a lovely summer and hope everything will be well for both you and your husband.

  4. Have fun. A blog is a tremendous amount of work. I never know how people can keep them up, especially if the effort is not a marketing effort in support of a business. I'm subscribed to your blog through Feedly so I'll see you when get back.

  18. I sure do understand your struggle with priorities, but I'll greatly miss your posts. Yours is one of the brightest voices in blog world, and I always anticipate your blog entries. ..... So, as you take this sabbatical, please remember how deeply you are valued by your sewing peers. And thank you for all the effort you put into your blog. It's a treasure. ..... The best to you and your husband, above all else.

  19. As someone who took a 3 month blogging break last year I say go for it! Sometimes we need to step away to enhance the experience. Enjoy your summer and see you when you get back!

    1. I enjoy researching and photo'ing and writing them. Just have to change my focus for a while. I think I will try to take pics as I sew and then can post when I get back. Thanks for your patience.

  21. Bunny, you inspire and make me ponder. Your site will always be a source for how to make beautiful projects a reality. Thank you so much for that. Blogging is a practice that requires discipline, devotion and time. It's difficult to sustain when everything is in balance, but I also know that one of these days when I check for a new post, there you'll be, refreshed and rarin' go go once again.

We get so spoiled when we browse the blogs that interest us and it's easy to take their existence for granted. LaSewista is one of the best on the net. Thank you (again!). Please know how appreciated you are.

  25. Summer is such a busy time, I always feel overwhelmed by everything that wants doing. Your voice will be missed. Wishing you and your family all the best. Thanks for the recommendation for the Craftsy purse class, I watched it yesterday, very helpful information from the designer of the bag I'm in the middle of making.

  27. Take a break, you need it. The blog should be fairly low on your priority, Hubby and your life are more important. I'm still unpacking, so I am not blogging so much now. I do hope he gets over his health issues.

For some unknown reason, your last few posts have been sent into my spam folder, so I've missed seeing them. ??? Who know why!! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I've lifted your Ern up in my prayers this morning & I hope things improve for him & thus, for you, too.

  29. Wow, just found your blog and it's going off line! I fully understand and hope things work out. I really don't know how you bloggers do it. On a positive note, now that I have discovered you, there's plenty of back "issues" to read over and enjoy. Take care.

  32. I have been meaning to respond to this thoughtful and appropriate post. I know what it feels like to be low on energy from time to time and generally it is better to acknowledge that, reprioritise and adjust. Blogging is never an obligation, even though I and many other do take a great deal from you, so it can go on the back burner until you feel like another burst of energy. Many blogs fade out after a couple of years when people really run out of things to say too, which is also OK I think. A busy job, a family that need you and time to just relax are important prioritise and everyone who loves your blog will be supporting you by thinking of you and looking back on some of the fantastic range of posts you have already provided. I for one have a good look at your higher level posts fairly often. Thank you and take it easy. Love Kate

  35. That is so sweet, Terri. I will be back very soon. Next week we have our last round of visitors who will stay with us. We are vacation central for my husband's family, which is fine. Four adults arriving next weekend so lots to do. The other great news is my husband had a great report from his regular doctor and oncologist so we are ready to roll! Thanks, all for hanging in there! Miss you all.
