She Won!

My congratulations to the fabulous and wonderful Ann Rowley on her win on the Great British Sewing Bee. They were all wonderful sewists, each in their own special way, but Ann's experience and knowledge could not be overcome. Her reward is well deserved. Go Ann!!!

(If you want to see the Great British Sewing Bee just go to youtube and search. There are four programs and make sure you watch them in sequence. A big thank you to those who put up the videos.)

  1. I started watching The Sewing Bee from your post. I loved it. I'm so glad Ann won. She was a hands down opponent for me. I hope they do another series and soon.

  7. Experience counts for everything. You could tell from the first episode that she had been around the block a few times and could handle anything they threw at her. So happy she won!

  9. This series was so fun to watch! My DD and I sat scrunched over my laptop screen, backtracking at times to make sure we didn't miss anything! Thanks so much for posting the initial video.

  10. This series was a lot of fun to watch and all the contestants had great skills, but Ann clearly had more experience and skills than the others. I was sad each time someone had to leave, but it was fascinating to watch the final episode and I had to agree that I would have selected the same three finalists.

  11. I so enjoyed watching this and was cheering for Ann even before I saw how very talented she is. What a gracious lady who deserved to win. Unlike similar shows in the U.S., everyone was so agreeable and seemed to get along well with one another...very refreshing!

  13. I'm so glad that you turned us all on to TGBSB!! I was thrilled when Ann won! Unlike most reality shows, this one had generous and gracious competitors, and unlike many reality shows, the most deserving person won!! HIp, hip, hooray!

  14. Thank you so very much for introducing us to TGBSB!! It was a wonderful series and I watched every minute today, back-to-back!! Along with being a great show, it also encouraged me to not be quite so critical of my on abilities and maybe not make myself so crazy about perfection..... Thanks so much!!!

  15. I enjoyed the show so much, but was left with questions. It was so obvious that Ann had the skills to win right from the start. How could you not with 70 years of sewing experience? The much younger group didn't stand a chance; only maybe the 50-ish women did. But I think the very tight time constraints, coupled with having to sew with competitors in the same room (not to mention distracting camera crew) put them all in a different set of circumstances than what they would normally encounter as "home sewers." I did love the lack of snarkiness and backstabbing that we usually get in reality competitions, though. Hooray for courtesy and what appeared to be an honest concern for the feelings of your competitors!

Had to Refurbish This One!
