My first loom woven necklace!

I've finally finished my first ever loom woven bead necklace. It definitely says "beginner" to anyone who seriously beads, but as for me, I Love It.

I am excited to start my next piece and am not sure if it will be bead woven or fibers. I think it will be a black, pink and grey coloration.

The construction here is reaching its end and we are VERY pleased. Our builder has done a wonderful job of fulfilling our wishes. If I have learned anything over the years working with contractors, whether through my work or personally, it is all about communication. If you can both communicate easily the rest just falls into place for all involved. Egomaniacal builders, and there are many, can be highly skilled but I just can't work with them effectively and reach our goals. Our guy, Shorty Miller, is the best! and such a decent man, too! He and hubby are fast friends.

Is there anything that says summer better than a plate of heirloom tomatoes? This was full and even more gorgeous but they taste so good. They have a flavor and texture far beyond that red mush that ships well and that we find in the supermarket. One of God's greater gifts.......................Bunny

  2. Love the new necklace...it reminds me of the Reiki symbol of a hand for healing. The copper and green and blue will look nice with denims! Good job working with those little beads and learning your loom!

I know what you mean about contractors, we are building a home and will be dealing with them well into next year.

  4. Oh, your necklace is so gorgeous! I love the nautilus shaped spiral on the medallion. And the metallic beads add sparkle! It's addictive, isn't it?!!

Happy to hear the positives when it comes to construction! I always think there have to be some good stories when it comes to building and remodeling, so thank you for sharing!

  6. Darling Bunny,
Adore your necklace, and it doesn't shout beginner at all.................it is beautiful. Good health in wearing it!!
Oh, I know what you mean about builders. We have worked with quite a few over the years from hard landscaping gardens to complete house builds. We started a project this week, adding an extra room to the house. Suffice to say Marley the cat has just walked over the newly done foundations just as the guy drove off after a days work!! Wonder what Tom will say when he returns early tomorrow morning........................paw prints right through the middle of it.............yikes.

  7. Your necklace is very nice.

Contractors, even more unusual is getting one to come back when the job is done to finish up or fix small things, they're usually off to the next big thing.

Where I work, we have "temporary" buildings that were put in in the late 1940s, there are dog prints in the concrete floor. It makes me happy to see them.

What varieties are your tomatoes? The one on the left has a metallic gleam in the photo. I have small green ones on the plants, still waiting for a sun-warmed ripe one.

  8. What a beautiful necklace, Bunny! Copper, cobalt, and aquamarine make such a classic, wearable color combination. Absolutely lovely work.

Also, hooray for your construction being almost finished! Congratulations! We're contemplating a big kitchen renovation, this fall, so it's a relief to hear positive contractor stories. Yours sounds like quite the find.
