ReplyDeleteI don't think I'm at a level in my sewing at which I would know if this is true, although I believe it in other spheres, but it calls to mind the Frost line: "Writing free verse is like playing tennis with the net down." I tend to feel that just as in writing great poetry, there is behind-the-scenes elegance/structure/method in sewing that renders a final garment sophisticated and yet seemingly effortless (even a basic one).
