Wednesday Words

"My husband says he has just copyrighted a new word: fabrilanche. It is when a giant pile of fabric falls, endangering lives. He predicts this is how he will die and may be why one of our tiny dogs goes missing in the future."  .........Caroline Gaddy on FB

**********************

Sunday evening, while friends were visiting, I had what only could be called a freak accident while we were all hanging around our kitchen island. It's a bit too crazy to even describe. At this point I am out of work for two weeks, in major pain, and have seriously bruised  ribs, spleen (real bad) and lungs. Luckily nothing was punctured despite my having the wind knocked out. I am on "lay down" orders. That and sitting for a while on the edge of chair, nice and straight are about all I can handle right now. Blessedly, my hubby is taking great care of  things. So I don't see much sewing for a while although I sure wish I could take advantage of the time. To everything there is a season......so blogging and sewing will be sparse  till I can move around a bit more comfortably. I should be able to visit you all  while I chair sit, however.

I say all this because I didn't respond to the many lovely compliments, great binding suggestions and hair comments yesterday. They were read and all appreciated. Hope to be back at the machine and keyboard soon. Thanks for your loyal following. Don't you just love the Fabrilanche comment?...........Bunny

  12. Bunny, take care and heal quickly. Sounds like a really awful accident to do so much damage.... and I agree with Sheron, at some point you just must tell us what happened.

  25. It sounds like you got trampled by a horse in your own kitchen! Please take care of yourself and watch some Craftsy classes while all your parts are mending. Sometimes we are given these events to slow us down for a reason that will only be revealed later.

  26. You have been so productive recently it may make sense just to rest up for a while. You can always concentrate on growing your hair and enjoy some warm affection from you DH.

  28. Dear Bunny, I'm so sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. And I hope you're soon able to prop yourself up in a good reading position, perhaps to comb through some great sewing books? Take good care. Linda S.

  29. Oh dear. It's always so unfair that one has an accident not involving saving a small child from a burning building or runaway bull. Something glamorous and exciting! You could always make up a better one. My other favourite word is fabragsm. We all know it, right? The reaction you have to seeing and feeling the most beautiful fabric ever. I love being in the Fabric Store, seeing the quiet but unmistakable sights and sounds of a sewist having a fabragasm. I have loud ones myself, being a generally loud person!

  30. Fabrilanche is a great word, as is fabragasm.

I'm sorry you had an accident and hope you are back to normal soon. I have to say though, the words visiting friends, kitchen island, and freak accident combined bring to mind partying, dancing on the island and then falling off. Perhaps I've watched too many of those video shows that show such things?

  31. Darling Bunny,

I hope that you are starting to feel a little better as each day goes by...............healing does take time, so if you are a good patient and do as you are told ( ? or are you stubborn like me??) you will be on the road to recovery and we will all be breathing a sigh of relief.
Think of yourself, your loyal followers will all be ready and waiting to cheer when you are up and running again.
    Much love.xx

  32. In the blink of an eye, huh? I hope you are healing quickly & will be back in your pretty pink cave very soon!

  33. Take care of yourself and don't try too much too soon. Thank goodness it sounds like you will heal and be back in action before too long.

  34. Oh, that sounds awful. Take gentle care of yourself... Fabrilanche is the best new word!
