A hand picked beaded zip!

I really enjoy this type of sewing. I get off on the small details that maybe just I know about, like Hong Kong seams and such. I certainly don't advertise such things when I wear a garment out. But it's like wearing the lacy, expensive bra underneath a denim work shirt, just makes me feel good inside. Detailed and sometimes secret, that's my favorite type of sewing!

The dress is close to completion and I am all over it to  get it done on time. I will take pics on my form and let my hobbyist photog daughter take the pics of me in it with her killer camera. That will be at the wedding next weekend. More to come...................Bunny

  3. Details like these make me so happy! I've been smiling away like a fool when wearing a solid linen skirt with a floral facing because I know what's inside! I adore this beaded zipper - so absolutely special!

    1. I love special facings too, another way to "privatize your sewing pleasure".

  4. That is so cool!!! And even being on the outside, it is an up close detail that only few observant people will notice. I love those "double take" things as much as I too love the secret inside details. I think slow sewing is like slow cooking - incredibly satisfying!

  5. And this was really slow! FWIW, I used that self adhesive ruler and did a stitch/bead (actually a backstitch) every 3/8ths of an inch, really easy peasy and such a nice touch for the effort, nothing hard.

  6. So nice! I love to do things like that, as well. I especially like to do them on a gift item, if the recipient is the kind who will appreciate the effort.

  7. Nice!!! I should try this some day. I know what you mean about the pleasure of knowing the details are there. I especially like waist stays - I put them in almost all my dresses.
